Privacy and terms

How Axiom handles personal data, and the rules for using the app and Axiom Pulse. Both documents apply to the Axiom (formerly PulseUK) mobile app and the Axiom Pulse website.

The mobile voting product is being retired. Mobile-specific provisions below remain published for historical accounts and data; they do not promise continued voting or results access. Retirement does not itself delete records. Contact support for data requests.

Privacy policy

What we collect, and what we do not do with it.

Axiom is a civic polling app and a private Terminal. We collect account information and poll responses so we can run accounts, enforce one vote per poll, and show aggregated results and constituency comparisons. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use third-party advertising SDKs for tracking.

01

What we collect

  • Account information: email address via Authentik. We do not store your password in our database.
  • Profile information: constituency and demographic fields such as age band, gender, ethnicity, and religion. “Prefer not to say” is available for demographics.
  • Poll responses: your vote for each poll, tied to your account so we can enforce one vote per poll and compute aggregates.
  • App data stored on your device: preferences, onboarding draft answers, and a local vote history cache.
  • Basic technical data: service logs such as IP address and request metadata.

02

How we use data

  • Provide the service: accounts, voting, results, and local comparisons.
  • Compute aggregated statistics and trends.
  • Prevent abuse, for example duplicate voting.
  • Maintain reliability and debug issues.

03

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell personal data. We share data only as needed to operate Axiom, including with service providers.

  • Axiom infrastructure: Authentik authentication and Pulse Postgres-backed APIs for app data.

These third parties have their own privacy policies and may collect information such as IP address when you access their services.

04

Aggregation and privacy thresholds

Axiom is designed to show results in aggregated form. Where demographic or constituency slices are shown, we apply minimum sample thresholds to reduce the risk of identifying individuals in small groups.

If a slice is under threshold, you may see “not enough data” instead of a number. This is an intentional privacy and credibility guardrail.

05

Retention

We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the service and operate Axiom. You can request deletion at any time.

06

Your choices and rights

  • Request account deletion.
  • Request a copy or export of your data.
  • Choose “Prefer not to say” for demographic fields.
  • Delete on-device data using the app’s “Delete local data” option.

To make a request, email support@pulseuk.app from the email address associated with your account. Axiom (formerly PulseUK) app accounts and Axiom Pulse accounts are handled separately.

07

Children

Axiom is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Terms of use

Use Axiom honestly, and know what the product is not.

By using Axiom, you agree to these terms. They cover the Axiom (formerly PulseUK) mobile app and the Axiom Pulse website.

01

Overview

These Terms of Use apply to the Axiom (formerly PulseUK) mobile app and the Axiom Pulse website. Keep access honest, keep use acceptable, and treat results as participating-user data rather than official polling.

02

Eligibility

Axiom is intended for adults (18+).

03

Accounts and access

  • You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials.
  • Axiom (formerly PulseUK) app accounts and Axiom Pulse accounts are separate accounts, even if the same email address is used on both products.
  • The Axiom Pulse is restricted to authorised users and may require membership in an organisation.

04

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to vote multiple times per poll per account.
  • Do not probe, scan, or test the security of Axiom.
  • Do not use Axiom to harass, threaten, or harm others.
  • Do not misuse external links, for example MP contact tools.

05

Disclaimers

Axiom results reflect responses from app users. They are not official polling, and they may not be representative of the wider population.

We aim to present information neutrally and do not endorse parties or candidates.

06

Third-party services

Axiom may link to or rely on third-party services for authentication, payments, analytics, data storage, and operational tooling. Your use of those services is subject to their terms and policies.

07

Changes and termination

We may update Axiom or these terms over time, and we may suspend or terminate access if needed to keep the service safe and reliable.
